GIVE BACK
TO YOUR
COMMUNITY

Our volunteers keep the momentum going, help keep our spirits high, and ensure that we maintain relevance within our community. Volunteers help us with delivering our programs (from photography to lifeguarding to coaching to beach cleanups to marine science content) and support our fundraising initiatives, organizing in-kind donations, recruiting new sponsors, and spreading information about our work through their networks.

Our volunteers are a mixture of BIPOC community members and white allies, and many of our volunteers have expressed that they enjoy being in service to Black Surf Santa Cruz because of the significance of the mission and how much they learn about unlearning white supremacy in surf and ocean culture in this coastal town.
